Learning follows progression.
As education steps forward because of the so-called digital revolution, DIWA takes the first step to make the most of the boundless potential of technology. DIWA leads while its audience learns more.
Diwa Learning Town or DLT, a new online initiative of DIWA, is a web portal for students, teachers and parents designed to enrich teaching and learning experience. It is a 24-hour Online Resource Center that hosts valuable resources and information such as reading materials, lessons, activities, references, and the likes which are in line with curriculum.
By means of DLT, teachers have around-the-clock access to teaching tools which DIWA prepares for them such as Teaching Strategies, Training Modules, Teacher’s Guide and Manual whereas the students to learning resources like Online Reviewer, eGames, eDictionary and eThesaurus.
The previous and most recent issues of Scholastic Enhancement Materials (SEMS) ePages are posted on it and past issues can be downloaded through its Article Archive menu.
As its name suggests, Diwa Learning Town is an online community of educators and students. It is the junction of traditional teaching materials and electronic education references; the corner of learning doorway; and the crossroads where teacher-student-parent collective involvement is encouraged. It is the meeting point where knowledge development and responsibility sharing convenes.
Diwa Learning Town is about discovering that teaching can be done beyond the customary means, exploring that students are learning out of their classroom, and constantly keeping parents informed of their child’s educational standing where they can guide and support them further than what they generally do.
Diwa developed DLT not merely to take its part in turning local education to high technology learning system, but more for a principle of building a connection between teachers, students and parents which is beyond their common place where educational experience is enhanced and shared for the goal of adapting to 21st century learning.
